About Essentials Kids Vapour Oil
Soothing vapours for a snuffly baby's room: a blend of essential oils that you add to a tissue or a bowl of warm water in the bedroom, releasing decongestant vapours to help your baby breathe more clearly through the night. For use in the baby's room, not on the baby, and suitable from birth. 10ml.
Why a room oil
Vapour rubs can't go on a newborn's skin and most decongestants aren't licensed for babies at all. A few drops of vapour oil in the room is the gentle route: the aromatic vapours reach the baby's nose without anything being applied to them. Pair it with a saline nasal spray before feeds for a snuffly week.
How to use
Add a few drops to a tissue placed near (not in) the cot, or to a bowl of warm water on a surface well out of reach. Use at bedtime and naps while the baby is congested.
Good to know
Never apply to the skin, bedding or a pillow, never put in the mouth, and keep the bottle closed and out of reach. Stop if the baby seems irritated by the vapour. If a baby is struggling to feed or breathe, or has a fever, see a GP or call 111.
