Keep going after it looks better
Fungal infections come back if treatment stops early: continue for two weeks after the skin looks clear (a month in total for athlete's foot, ringworm and jock itch). Keep away from the eyes. It can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms for five days after use. See a pharmacist or GP if there's no improvement after four weeks, or if the scalp or nails are involved.

Product overview

About Care Clotrimazole Cream

The same medicine as Canesten Cream at a pharmacy-generic price: clotrimazole 1% for athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, sweat rash in skin folds, fungal nappy rash and the external itching of thrush in women and men. 20g tube, pharmacy pack.

Why clotrimazole

Clotrimazole kills both the dermatophyte fungi behind athlete's foot and ringworm and the Candida yeast behind thrush and nappy rash, so one tube covers the lot. It acts on the skin without being absorbed, which makes it suitable from a baby's nappy area to an adult's groin. Brand or generic, the active ingredient and strength are identical.

How to use

Wash and dry the area, then rub in a thin layer two or three times a day. Continue for at least two weeks for thrush or nappy rash and at least four weeks for athlete's foot, ringworm or jock itch, keeping going for two weeks after the skin looks normal. For athlete's foot, dry between the toes and treat both feet.

Good to know

It can damage latex condoms and diaphragms for five days after use. Keep it away from the eyes. No improvement after four weeks, or an infection involving the scalp or nails, needs a pharmacist or GP. Contains cetostearyl and benzyl alcohol, which can irritate sensitive skin. Pharmacist-reviewed before dispatch.
