Product overview
About Paramol
“You can't hit pain much harder” — Paramol's own line, and fair: paracetamol 500mg with dihydrocodeine, the only dihydrocodeine combination you can buy from a pharmacy without a prescription. For the short-term relief of acute pain that paracetamol or ibuprofen alone isn't holding. The 32-tablet pack — the largest, one per order, with the addiction warning printed on the front.
Who the 32 pack suits
The full pack for someone who knows Paramol is what works and needs the maximum dose for the maximum three days — with tablets left over that should go in the cupboard, not the routine. One per order, opioid rules apply.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: one or two tablets every four to six hours as needed, never more than eight in 24 hours, as the pack directs. Maximum three days. Don't drink alcohol with it, and don't drive if it makes you drowsy.
Good to know
Dihydrocodeine is an opioid and can cause addiction — hence the three-day rule, the questionnaire about recent opioid use, and the per-order cap with a pharmacist reviewing every purchase. Contains paracetamol: no other paracetamol products alongside. Pain that keeps needing an opioid after three days needs a GP.

Frequently asked questions
Paramol or co-codamol?
Both pair paracetamol with an opioid. Paramol's dihydrocodeine is a little stronger than 8mg codeine per tablet and is the only dihydrocodeine combination sold over the counter — ask our pharmacist which suits your pain.
Why only 3 days?
Dihydrocodeine can cause dependence with regular use. If pain still needs it after 3 days, it needs a GP's assessment instead.
12, 24 or 32 tablets?
12 is a short course; 24 covers three days at the maximum dose; 32 is the full pack for those who know it works. None is for use beyond three days.
