When Solpadeine Plus earns its place
Headache, migraine, toothache, period pain, backache and joint pain that hasn't responded to paracetamol or ibuprofen alone — that's the pack's brief. It's the step before a GP visit, not a daily habit: codeine is for the shortest possible course.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: 2 capsules up to 4 times a day, always leaving at least 4 hours between doses, and never more than 8 capsules in 24 hours. Maximum 3 days — the pack says it in so many words.
Good to know
Codeine can cause addiction — that's why the questionnaire asks about recent codeine use, and why we cap this at one pack per order with a pharmacist reviewing every purchase. Contains paracetamol: no doubling up with cold and flu remedies.

How is this different from Solpadeine Max?
Max carries 12.8mg codeine per dose against Plus's 8mg, and drops the caffeine. Plus is the middle step between plain paracetamol and the strongest pharmacy option.
Why only 3 days?
Codeine can cause dependence and rebound headache with regular use. If pain still needs codeine after 3 days, it needs a GP instead.
Can I take it with ibuprofen?
Yes — ibuprofen works differently and can be taken alongside if it suits you. Never combine with other paracetamol or codeine products.
