Bleaches fabric and hair — avoid eyes and sun
Benzoyl peroxide bleaches hair, towels, bedding and coloured clothing on contact; wash hands after use. Keep away from eyes, mouth, nostrils and broken skin. Skin becomes more sun-sensitive: use SPF 30 or higher and avoid sunbeds.
Some dryness and peeling is normal
Mild redness, dryness, stinging and peeling are common in the first weeks; use once daily or on alternate days until the skin settles. Stop and seek advice if swelling, blistering or severe irritation develops. Don't combine with other benzoyl peroxide products without advice.

Product overview

About Acnecide Wash

Benzoyl peroxide 5% as a wash-off gel: two minutes in the shower treats acne and breakouts on the face, back and chest, killing the bacteria that cause spots and unblocking the pores behind blackheads and whiteheads, with no gel left on the skin to bleach clothes or feel greasy. 100g tube.

Wash-off or leave-on

Leave-on Acnecide gel keeps working all day and is the stronger option for the face. The wash is the answer for large or awkward areas like the back and shoulders, for skin that finds the leave-on gel too drying, and for anyone who'd rather treat acne in the shower than at the bathroom mirror.

How to use

Wet the affected area, squeeze the gel onto your hands and wash the skin with it, leaving it on for one to two minutes before rinsing thoroughly and patting dry. Once or twice a day. More gel or a longer wait doesn't work better, it only irritates.

Good to know

Keep away from eyes, mouth and nostrils, and rinse well: any residue can still bleach towels and hair. Expect mild redness or dryness at first, and use SPF in the sun. Stop if swelling or blistering develops, and don't use alongside another benzoyl peroxide product without advice. Pharmacist-reviewed before dispatch.
