Product overview

About Pirinase Hayfever Once Daily

The steroid nasal spray for hayfever that antihistamine tablets can't shift: fluticasone calms the inflammation inside the nose itself, so sneezing, itching, a runny nose and, above all, congestion ease for up to 24 hours from one morning dose. Non-drowsy, no pharmacist consultation, for adults 18 and over. 60 sprays, a month at the maintenance dose.

Why a steroid spray

Antihistamines deal with the histamine after it's released; a corticosteroid works upstream, damping the allergic reaction in the lining, which is why it's the NHS first choice for a blocked nose in hayfever. Fluticasone is the same medicine in Flixonase; Pirinase brings it to the Piriton family at a general-sale price. It's often combined with a once-daily tablet such as Pirilieve.

How to use

Adults 18+: two sprays into each nostril once a day, preferably in the morning, aiming slightly outwards. Once symptoms are controlled, drop to one spray per nostril. The full effect builds over three or four days, so start early in the season.
