Product overview

About Olbas Oil

The inhalant decongestant Britain reaches for first: a blend of pure plant oils, including eucalyptus, cajuput, clove, juniper, menthol and wintergreen, whose vapour clears a blocked nose, catarrh and stuffy sinuses within a breath or two. A few drops on a tissue or in hot water, day or night, and it can also be rubbed on for muscular aches. 12ml dropper bottle, for adults and children from 3 months.

Why Olbas

Nothing to swallow, nothing to spray up the nose: the oils simply evaporate and the vapour does the work, which is why Olbas suits people who can't take decongestant tablets, and why one bottle serves the whole family. It's been the smell of a British winter cold since 1916.

How to use

Adults and children over 2: two or three drops on a tissue and inhale the vapour, or add to hot water and breathe the steam. Babies 3 months to 2 years: one drop on a tissue held near the nose. A few drops on a tissue in the pillowcase works overnight. As a rub for aches, follow the leaflet.

Good to know

Never put the drops in the nose or mouth, near the eyes or on a child's skin, and not for babies under 3 months. See a doctor if symptoms are no better after 7 days. The 30ml bottle is better value; Olbas for Children is the gentler version for the cot.
