Product overview
About Night Nurse Liquid
The night-time cold and flu classic in its original liquid form: paracetamol for aches, fever and sore throat pain, promethazine to dry a running nose and ease you to sleep, dextromethorphan to quiet a tickly cough. One 20ml dose at bedtime — 160ml bottle.
Why the liquid earns its keep
When a cold sits in your throat, a warming liquid dose goes down easier than capsules — and the syrup starts settling a cough on the way down. It's the same trusted formula as the capsules, one bottle covering roughly a week of nights.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: 20ml just before bed. One dose per night, and no paracetamol within the 4 hours before it. Not alongside Day Nurse doses closer than 4 hours either — the paracetamol adds up.
Good to know
This is deliberately drowsy medicine — promethazine carries most colds' best night's sleep inside it. No driving after a dose, no alcohol, and check anything else you're taking for hidden paracetamol before you pour.

Frequently asked questions
Liquid or capsules?
Same formula. The liquid soothes on the way down and suits anyone who'd rather not swallow capsules; the capsules travel better.
Can I take it with Lemsip during the day?
Only with 4+ hours between paracetamol doses and never more than 4 doses of paracetamol in 24 hours across everything you take.
Why does it make me so sleepy?
That's promethazine doing its job — the formula is built for nights. For daytime symptoms, use a non-drowsy day remedy instead.
