Product overview
About Night Nurse Capsules
The night shift of cold and flu care: paracetamol for fever and aches, promethazine to calm the streaming and help you sleep, and dextromethorphan to quiet the cough that keeps waking you. Britain's classic night-time cold remedy, in capsules. Pharmacy medicine, one pack per order. 10 capsules.
Why a night formula is different
Daytime remedies keep you functional; Night Nurse does the opposite on purpose. The promethazine is deliberately sedating — sleep is when the immune system does its best work, and a night spent coughing sabotages it. Take it at bedtime and let it do both jobs.
How to take
Adults and children 16+: two capsules at bedtime, per the pack. Nothing else containing paracetamol alongside — including any daytime cold remedy, which must be spaced correctly. No alcohol.
Good to know
Next-morning drowsiness is real — don't drive until it clears. Pairs with Day Nurse for round-the-clock cover, but the paracetamol counting between them is exactly what our pharmacist can walk you through.

Frequently asked questions
Why does it make me drowsy?
By design — promethazine settles symptoms and sends you to sleep, which is when recovery happens. Never drive on it.
Can I take it with Lemsip or Day Nurse?
Only with correct spacing — both contain paracetamol and doubling is dangerous. The questionnaire and our pharmacist cover this.
Capsules or liquid?
Same formula — capsules for convenience, liquid if you prefer to sip. Both are bedtime-only medicines.
