Product overview

About Migraleve

Britain's dedicated migraine painkiller since the 1960s: paracetamol and codeine for the pain, and in the pink tablets buclizine, an anti-sickness antihistamine, for the nausea that stops ordinary tablets staying down. Migraleve Yellow is the follow-up tablet: paracetamol 500mg and codeine 8mg without buclizine, for migraine pain that carries on after the pink dose — or for people who don't need the anti-sickness stage. 24 tablets. A pharmacy medicine for adults and children over 12, pharmacist-checked, one pack per order.

Who the yellows suit

Once the pink tablets have settled the nausea, the yellows continue the pain relief without re-dosing the sedating antihistamine — so you can keep the migraine under control with a clearer head. They also suit migraine sufferers whose attacks bring pain without sickness, and households that already have pinks and just need the follow-up supply.

How to take

Adults and children over 12: two yellow tablets every four hours if the pain continues after the pink dose, up to the pack maximum in 24 hours. Codeine rules apply: three days' use only, and never more than the pack maximum. No other paracetamol or codeine products alongside.

Good to know

Codeine can cause addiction and, used regularly, rebound headache — the questionnaire asks about recent use and every order is capped at one pack. Frequent migraines deserve a GP conversation about prevention rather than more attack treatment. A headache unlike your usual migraine, or with weakness or vision loss, needs urgent medical help.
