Product overview
About Gina
The first vaginal oestrogen available from a pharmacy without a prescription: Gina is a tiny estradiol 10 microgram tablet, placed in the vagina with a ready-to-use applicator, that treats the dryness, soreness, burning, itching and painful intercourse of vaginal atrophy after the menopause — at the cause, not just the symptoms. 24 tablets with applicators.
Why low-dose local oestrogen
After the menopause the vaginal lining thins and dries because oestrogen has gone. Moisturisers and lubricants ease the moment; Gina restores the tissue itself with a dose so small and so local that very little reaches the rest of the body. It's the treatment GPs have prescribed for years, now available to women 50 and over after a pharmacist's check.
How to use
One tablet into the vagina daily for the first two weeks, then one tablet twice a week — at bedtime is easiest. Insert using the applicator as the leaflet shows. Improvement builds over the first weeks; if symptoms haven't improved after three months, see your GP.
Good to know
Gina is for women aged 50 and over whose periods stopped at least a year ago. Any vaginal bleeding or spotting during treatment needs a doctor, and long-term use should be reviewed with a GP yearly. The questionnaire covers the conditions that rule it out — unexplained bleeding, breast or womb cancer history, blood clots and severe liver disease — and our pharmacist reviews every order. Plain packaging.

Frequently asked questions
Who can buy Gina without a prescription?
Women aged 50 and over who haven't had a period for at least a year, with symptoms of vaginal atrophy. The questionnaire checks eligibility and the conditions that rule it out.
How long before it works?
Daily for two weeks, then twice weekly. Most women notice improvement within a few weeks; if there's none after three months, see your GP.
Is it HRT?
It's a very low-dose local oestrogen — far less reaches the bloodstream than with HRT tablets or patches, and it doesn't treat hot flushes. Talk to your GP if you also have other menopause symptoms.
