About Fybogel Mebeverine

Why the combination
Mebeverine relaxes the gut muscle spasm behind the cramping; ispaghula normalises the stool whether the problem is constipation or looseness. Together they cover the two things IBS sufferers complain of most — and because the fibre is taken as a drink before meals, the mebeverine arrives exactly when the gut is about to be provoked.
How to take
Adults and children over 12: stir one sachet into a full glass of cold water and drink straight away, morning and evening, about 30 minutes before a meal. Follow with more water. Never take it dry, and not just before bed.

How is this different from plain Fybogel?
Plain Fybogel is ispaghula fibre alone. This adds mebeverine, an antispasmodic, so it treats the cramping pain of IBS as well as regularity.
When do I take it?
Morning and evening, about 30 minutes before a meal, stirred into a full glass of water and drunk immediately — with more water afterwards.
Can I take it with other medicines?
Leave at least two hours either side — the fibre can slow absorption. Ask our pharmacist if you take anything regularly.
