Product overview

About Bronchostop Cough Syrup

The one-bottle answer to “is it dry or chesty?” in the standard 200ml size: Bronchostop is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the relief of coughs, such as chesty coughs and dry, tickly, irritating coughs and catarrh, based on traditional use only. Thyme herb extract and marshmallow root extract, by Buttercup.

Why two herbs

Thyme is the traditional herb for loosening and shifting mucus; marshmallow root is a demulcent that coats and soothes an irritated throat. Together they cover both ends of a cough — which is why Bronchostop is labelled “for all coughs” and why you don't have to diagnose your own cough at the shelf.

How to take

Take by the spoonful as directed on the pack, spacing doses through the day. Check the label for the minimum age and children's doses. No sedating ingredients, so it suits daytime use.

Good to know

200ml is the standard bottle for one person's cold; the 240ml family size is better value for a household. A herbal medicine, so it pairs comfortably with paracetamol or ibuprofen. A cough beyond three weeks, or with blood, breathlessness or chest pain, needs a GP.
