Product overview
About Belladonna Plaster
The traditional pain plaster: a self-adhesive cloth plaster carrying belladonna alkaloids 0.25%, worn on the skin for two to three days to desensitise the nerve endings under it and relieve muscular tension, stiff necks, aching shoulders, back ache, lumbago, sciatica and rheumatic pain. Large size, 28cm x 17.5cm, cut to fit. One plaster, pharmacy-only.
Why a plaster
Rubs and gels wear off in hours; a medicated plaster delivers a steady low dose to the sore area day and night, and the warmth and support of the cloth backing help a strained muscle rest. It's the choice for the back or shoulder you can't keep re-treating during the day, and for people who'd rather not take painkiller tablets.
How to use
Adults and children over 10: make sure the skin is clean, dry and free of other creams, cut the plaster to size if needed, peel off the backing and press it firmly over the painful area. Leave it in place for two to three days, then remove. Warm the adhesive gently in your hands if it's cold.
Good to know
Belladonna is absorbed through the skin, so it's not for under-10s, in pregnancy or breastfeeding, with glaucoma, on the face, or on broken or inflamed skin, and not alongside antihistamine medicines. Remove the plaster and seek advice if you notice a rash, dry mouth, blurred vision or palpitations. Pharmacist-reviewed before dispatch.
