About Ashton & Parsons Teething Gel

Ashton & Parsons Teething Gel is a banana-flavoured baby teething gel that rapidly forms a protective barrier over sore gums to help relieve teething pain. Suitable from 3 months old, it's lactose and sugar free, and the tube's built-in gum-massaging applicator lets you apply and soothe in one go — no cold spoons, no fingers in a cross baby's mouth. 10ml tube.

How it works

Rather than numbing the gum like anaesthetic gels, this teething gel forms a film over the sore area — a physical barrier that helps relieve the pain and discomfort of a tooth pushing through. The soft-bristled applicator tip massages the gum as you apply, which most teething babies find soothing in itself. It's classed as a medical device rather than a medicine.

How to use

Squeeze a pea-sized amount onto the applicator and gently massage over the affected gum. Apply preferably after meals and before your baby's sleep to help the film build up and stay put — use 3 to 4 times a day as needed. Rinse the applicator and replace the cap after each use, and read the leaflet before first use.

When do babies start teething?

Most babies cut their first tooth around 6 months, but anywhere from 3 months to after their first birthday is normal. Telltale signs include heavy dribbling, chewing everything in reach, flushed cheeks and sore red gums. A high temperature isn't caused by teething — if your baby has a fever or seems unwell, speak to your GP or health visitor.
