Product overview

About Sudafed Sinus Max Strength Capsules

The capsule for a sinus cold that hurts: paracetamol for the facial pain and fever, phenylephrine to shrink the swollen lining so the sinuses drain, and a measured dose of caffeine that makes the paracetamol work harder and lifts the fog. Two capsules every four to six hours, for adults and children from 16. 16 capsules.

Why three actives

Sinus pressure is swelling that blocks drainage, and the ache is the pressure building behind it. Phenylephrine deals with the swelling from the inside, so the pain relief isn't just masking a blockage that's still there; paracetamol takes the ache and temperature; caffeine, at a quarter of a cup of coffee, improves how well paracetamol works. It's the oral option when a spray isn't enough or you want the painkiller in the same dose.

How to take

Adults and children over 16: two capsules with water every four to six hours as needed, no more than eight capsules in 24 hours. Not for under-16s.

Good to know

Contains paracetamol: don't take any other paracetamol product at the same time. Not suitable with high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid or MAOI antidepressants; ask a pharmacist first with diabetes, an enlarged prostate, or on beta-blockers or other blood pressure medicines. For the blocked nose alone, Sudafed Sinus-Ease spray works faster. Sinus symptoms with a high fever, swelling around the eye, or lasting more than ten days need a GP.
