Spray vs tablet decongestants

How to use

Adults and children 12+: one spray into each nostril up to three times daily. Blow your nose gently first. Maximum 7 days' continuous use.

Good to know

The 7-day rule isn't small print — overusing decongestant sprays causes rebound congestion (a nose that blocks because of the spray). If you're still blocked after a week, switch approaches: saline, steam, or a pharmacist chat. Not for people on MAOI antidepressants; caution with heart conditions and high blood pressure.
