Product overview
About Sudafed Blocked Nose & Sinus Capsules
Sudafed's triple-action capsules take on the whole sinus-pressure picture: phenylephrine shrinks swollen nasal passages to unblock your nose, paracetamol relieves the sinus pain and headache, and caffeine sharpens the paracetamol while countering the cold-medicine fog. 16 capsules — day-friendly, non-drowsy congestion relief.
When sinuses are the problem
That heavy, face-ache pressure behind cheekbones and forehead is swollen sinus passages that can't drain. A decongestant opens the drainage routes while the painkiller handles the throb — attacking cause and symptom together, which single-ingredient painkillers can't.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: follow the pack dosing, spacing doses at least 4 hours apart, maximum 4 doses in 24 hours. Swallow with water. Because of the caffeine, go easy on coffee alongside — and take the last dose well before bed.
The double-up warnings
This contains a full paracetamol dose — never combine with Lemsip, paracetamol tablets or other paracetamol remedies. And skip it if you're on blood pressure medication or have heart problems without a pharmacist's OK: decongestants raise blood pressure.

Frequently asked questions
Can I take it with paracetamol or Lemsip?
No — it already contains 500mg paracetamol per dose. Combining paracetamol products risks overdose; pick one remedy per symptom window.
Why is there caffeine in it?
Two reasons: caffeine boosts paracetamol's painkilling effect, and it offsets the sluggishness of a heavy cold. It's roughly a quarter-cup of coffee per dose — time your last dose away from bedtime.
Is it OK with high blood pressure?
Check with a pharmacist first — phenylephrine constricts blood vessels and can nudge blood pressure up. The same caution applies with heart disease, thyroid problems and certain antidepressants (MAOIs).
How long can I use a decongestant?
A few days around the worst of the cold. Sinus pain beyond a week, worsening symptoms or facial swelling should see a pharmacist or GP — occasionally sinusitis needs more than self-care.
