About Quies Air Travel Ear Plugs

For the descent that makes your ears ache. These Quies plugs contain a ceramic pressure filter that slows the rate of pressure change against the eardrum during take-off and landing, easing the painful blocked sensation that catches so many people out. Curved tip for a comfortable fit. One reusable pair.

Why flying hurts your ears

Cabin pressure changes fast; the air behind your eardrum equalises slowly through the Eustachian tube. The gap between the two is what you feel as pressure, pain and muffled hearing — and it's much worse with a cold or blocked nose, when that tube is already congested.

How to use

Insert before take-off and keep them in through the climb, then reinsert before the descent begins — not once your ears already hurt. Reusable; keep them clean between flights.

Good to know

Swallowing, yawning and chewing all help equalise pressure alongside the plugs. If you're flying with a heavy cold, a decongestant beforehand may help — ask our pharmacist. Severe or lasting ear pain after a flight should be checked.
