Always get rectal bleeding checked

Why a clear gel rather than an ointment

Ointments are effective but greasy, and they mark underwear — a real consideration when you need to apply something several times a day at work. A gel absorbs quickly and leaves nothing behind, which for many people is the difference between using a treatment properly and skipping doses.

How to use

Cleanse the area gently and pat dry, then apply the gel as directed on the pack. Repeat as needed through the day.

Good to know

This soothes and cools rather than anaesthetising — if pain is the dominant problem, a lidocaine product may suit better; ask our pharmacist. And any rectal bleeding must be checked by a GP rather than assumed to be piles.
