Why paracetamol remains the default

It suits more people than any other painkiller: safe with most conditions and medicines, no stomach-lining trouble, usable in pregnancy at standard doses. The entire catch is the counting — so many products quietly contain it that doubling up by accident is the classic error. One paracetamol product at a time, always.

How to take

Adults and children 12+: per pack limits — typically two tablets up to four times daily, minimum 4 hours apart, never more than 8 in 24 hours.
