About Optase Cleanse & Protect
Lid hygiene is the treatment for blepharitis, and this is the modern way to do it. Optase Cleanse & Protect is a hypochlorous acid spray that cleanses the eyelids and lashes without rubbing, reducing the bacteria and debris behind blepharitis, styes, and the crusty, itchy, sticky-in-the-morning lid margins that come with them. No rinsing. 100ml.
Hypochlorous acid — the body's own antiseptic
It's the compound your white blood cells make to kill bacteria, so at this dilution it clears lid bacteria while being gentle enough for daily use around the eye. That's a considerable improvement on the old routine of diluted baby shampoo and a cotton bud.
How to use
Close your eyes, spray onto a clean cotton pad or directly onto closed lids as directed, and wipe along the lash line. Twice daily to begin with. No rinsing needed — leave it to dry.
Good to know
Blepharitis is managed rather than cured: the moment lid hygiene stops, it tends to return. Keep it up daily even when things settle, and pair it with warm compresses. Sudden pain, swelling or vision change needs urgent care.

Frequently asked questions
How does it help blepharitis?
Blepharitis is driven by bacteria and debris on the lid margin. Hypochlorous acid clears both, gently enough for twice-daily use around the eye.
Do I need to rinse it off?
No — spray, wipe along the lash line, and leave it to dry.
Can I stop once symptoms settle?
Blepharitis is managed rather than cured — it usually returns when lid hygiene stops, so keep going daily.
