Product overview
About Nurofen Day & Night Cold & Flu
Round-the-clock cold relief on an ibuprofen base: each tablet pairs ibuprofen with phenylephrine for fever, congestion, sore throat and head and body aches — taken through day and night as the cold demands. 16 tablets.
The ibuprofen route through a cold
Most combination cold remedies build on paracetamol; Nurofen's build on ibuprofen, whose anti-inflammatory action suits the throbbing-sinus, sore-throat, aching-limbs profile. It also means this can be taken alongside plain paracetamol (correctly spaced) — but never alongside other ibuprofen or aspirin.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: follow the pack, with or after food, respecting the daily maximum. Short-term use.
Good to know
Two actives, two cautions: the NSAID rules (food, ulcers, asthma) and the decongestant rules (blood pressure, heart, thyroid, diabetes). If any apply, our pharmacist will find you a safer combination.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from paracetamol cold remedies?
It's built on ibuprofen — anti-inflammatory, which suits throbbing sinuses and aching limbs. It also means paracetamol can still be taken separately, spaced properly.
Can I take it with Lemsip?
With care — Lemsip is paracetamol-based so the actives don't clash, but both contain a decongestant. Don't double phenylephrine; ask our pharmacist.
Why with food?
Ibuprofen irritates an empty stomach — food or milk buffers it.
