A barrier, not a cure: from age 1
Nasofed Protect forms a film that makes it harder for viruses to reach the nasal lining; it does not treat an infection that has taken hold. Reapply as the pack directs, keep one bottle per person, and see a GP for a high fever, breathing difficulty or symptoms beyond ten days.

Product overview

About Nasofed Protect

A nasal spray for before the cold, not after it: Nasofed Protect coats the inside of the nose with a moisturising, thixotropic film that stays put rather than running off, forming a barrier that makes it harder for viruses and bacteria to reach the nasal lining. Steroid-free, drug-free, for adults and children from 1 year, with 200 doses in the 10ml bottle.

Why a barrier spray

Cold and flu viruses get in through the nose. A physical film across the lining gives them less to attach to for the hours after each spray, which is why barrier sprays are used on the commute, in the office in winter, on flights and around a household that's already coughing. It can reduce the need for medicines later, and it's safe to use alongside any of them.

How to use

One spray into each nostril, and repeat every four hours or so while you're around other people, as the pack directs. Start at the first sign of a cold or when exposure is likely, such as before travelling.

Good to know

It's a barrier, not a treatment: once a cold has taken hold, a saline spray and a cold remedy do more. Keep one bottle per person. See a GP for a high fever, breathing difficulty or symptoms beyond ten days.
