About Gaviscon Original Aniseed

Original or Advance?
Original combines the alginate raft with antacids that neutralise acid as well — a two-front approach that suits general heartburn and indigestion. Advance drops the antacids and doubles the alginate for a denser, longer-lasting raft, which suits reflux that keeps breaking through. Most people find their preference and stay there.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: 10–20ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day. Shake the bottle first.
Good to know
Contains sodium — mention it to your pharmacist if you're on a low-salt diet or have kidney or heart problems. Heartburn most days for three weeks or more, difficulty swallowing, or unexplained weight loss should be checked by a GP.
