About Gaviscon Advance Chewable Tablets
The raft, minus the bottle: Gaviscon Advance's double-strength alginate in chewable mint tablets that build the same acid-blocking barrier on top of your stomach contents — long-lasting relief from heartburn, acid reflux and indigestion, anywhere you happen to be when it flares. 24 tablets.
Portable raft technology
Chew, swallow, and the alginate meets stomach acid to set into a floating gel raft that physically corks reflux where it escapes. No liquid to decant, no fridge — the handbag-and-hand-luggage answer for people whose heartburn travels with them.
How to take
Adults and children 12+: chew 1–2 tablets thoroughly after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily. Suitable in pregnancy — confirm with your midwife or pharmacist.
Good to know
Leave two hours between these and other medicines (the raft slows absorption). Heartburn most days for three weeks, swallowing trouble or weight loss: GP, not more tablets.

Frequently asked questions
Tablets or liquid — which works better?
Same raft mechanism; the liquid coats marginally faster at home, the tablets win everywhere else. Most reflux veterans keep both.
How do I take them?
Chew 1–2 thoroughly after meals and at bedtime — chewing properly matters, it starts the raft-forming reaction.
Do they affect other medicines?
They can slow absorption — leave a 2-hour gap either side of other medication, and ask our pharmacist to map timings.
