About Gaviscon Advance Peppermint

The extra-strength reflux raft, in its classic mint coat: Gaviscon Advance carries double the sodium alginate of standard Gaviscon, building a stronger, longer-lasting barrier over your stomach contents that physically stops acid reflux, heartburn and indigestion — with peppermint's clean finish. 250ml oral suspension.

The raft, explained

Alginate meets stomach acid and sets into a floating gel raft at the top of the stomach — a physical cork where reflux escapes. Nothing is absorbed; nothing is drowsy; it simply blocks the acid's exit route. Advance's double concentration means a 5–10ml dose does what 10–20ml of standard does, and holds longer overnight.

How to take

Adults and children 12+: 5–10ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily. Shake well. Suitable in pregnancy and breastfeeding — confirm with your midwife or pharmacist.
