Product overview

About ColdZyme

A mouth spray that goes for the cold virus rather than the symptoms: ColdZyme coats the throat with a glycerol barrier containing an enzyme that deactivates cold viruses where they land, so fewer of them take hold. Used from the first tickle, its makers' clinical work reports a cold shortened by up to four and a half days, with less coughing, blocked nose and tiredness along the way. A CE-marked medical device, 20ml bottle.

Why a barrier spray

Cold viruses enter through the lining of the throat and nose in the first day or two. Painkillers and decongestants work on what happens afterwards; ColdZyme is one of the few products aimed at the front end, which is why the timing matters. It's drug-free, so it sits alongside a cold and flu remedy rather than replacing it.

How to use

Start as soon as you feel a cold coming on. Spray into the back of the throat at regular intervals through the day as the pack directs, and carry on until the symptoms have settled. Don't eat or drink for a few minutes after a spray so the barrier can form.

Good to know

Check the pack for the minimum age and the number of doses per day. It's a device, not a medicine: if you also need something for fever, aches or a cough, add one from our range or ask our pharmacist. See a GP for a high fever, breathing difficulty, or a cold that lasts beyond ten days.
