Product overview
About Canesten Bifonazole Once Daily
The once-a-day athlete's foot cream: bifonazole 1% stays active in the skin for a full 24 hours, so a single evening application does the work that other antifungals need two or three goes to achieve. From Bayer's Canesten range. 20g.
Once daily, and why that matters
Athlete's foot treatments fail for one reason above all — people stop applying them. Bifonazole's long skin-retention means one application before bed, which is a far easier habit to keep for the three weeks the fungus actually needs. Different active from the clotrimazole creams, same battle.
How to use
Wash and dry the feet thoroughly — especially between the toes — then apply a thin layer once daily, preferably at bedtime. Keep going for the full course on the label, and for a while after the skin looks clear.
Good to know
Treat your shoes as well as your feet with an antifungal spray, or the fungus simply moves back in. Thick, yellowed nails need a different treatment; and if you have diabetes, get any foot problem professionally assessed.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Canesten's clotrimazole cream?
Different antifungal. Bifonazole stays in the skin for 24 hours so it's applied once daily; clotrimazole needs two or three applications a day.
How long do I keep using it?
Follow the pack's course length, and keep going a little after the skin looks normal — stopping at 'looks better' is the classic reason athlete's foot returns.
Why does it keep coming back?
Usually reinfection from footwear. Dry between the toes properly, rotate shoes, and treat them with an antifungal spray.
