Product overview
About Iglu Shield
Iglu Shield is drug-free relief for mouth ulcers: a thick, viscous gel that sticks to the ulcer and forms a physical barrier over it — shielding raw nerve endings from food, drink, teeth and talking. No anaesthetic, no medicine; the protection itself is the pain relief. 10g tube.
Why a barrier works
Ulcer pain is mostly contact pain — every bite and hot drink hits exposed tissue. Cover it, and eating stops being an event. The barrier also protects the ulcer from further irritation and damage while it heals, which most anaesthetic gels (which numb and wash away) don't offer.
How to use
Dry the ulcer area gently, apply a small amount of gel over and just beyond it, and let it set into its shield. Reapply as needed — particularly before meals, which is when you'll thank it. Being drug-free, there's no dose ceiling to track.
When an ulcer isn't just an ulcer
Most ulcers heal within 2 weeks. One that lasts longer than 3 weeks, keeps returning in crops, or comes with other symptoms needs a dentist or GP look — persistent ulcers are the classic 'get it checked' sign.

Frequently asked questions
How does it relieve pain without medicine?
Ulcer pain is contact pain — the gel forms a physical shield over the raw spot, so food, drink and your own teeth stop hitting it. Protection is the painkiller.
When should I apply it?
Before meals is the golden window, plus whenever the shield wears. Dry the spot first — the gel grips much better.
Iglu or an anaesthetic gel?
Anaesthetic gels numb briefly and wash away; a barrier lasts through a meal and protects the ulcer while it heals. Many people combine the approaches at different times of day.
How long should an ulcer take to heal?
Up to 2 weeks is normal. Beyond 3 weeks, or constantly recurring crops, needs a dentist or GP — don't just keep covering it.
