Not for anyone under 18, and not in pregnancy or while breastfeeding unless a doctor advises. Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days. Not for use if the area is infected.
Always get rectal bleeding checked
Never assume bleeding is piles. Bleeding, a change in bowel habit, a lump or unexplained weight loss must be assessed by a GP — the same symptoms can have far more serious causes.

Product overview

About Anusol Soothing Relief Ointment

The anti-inflammatory Anusol. Alongside the familiar astringents, this ointment adds hydrocortisone — a mild steroid that directly reduces inflammation. Four-way action: shrinks piles, relieves discomfort, soothes itching and reduces the inflammation driving all three. 15g.

What the steroid adds — and what it costs you

When piles are genuinely swollen and inflamed, astringents alone can be slow. Hydrocortisone calms the inflammation itself, which often breaks the cycle quickly. The trade-off is strict limits: adults only, and no more than 7 consecutive days, because prolonged steroid use thins delicate skin.

How to use

Adults 18 and over: apply as directed on the pack, and stop after 7 days at most. Cleanse the area and pat dry first. For external use only.

Good to know

Not for anyone under 18, not if the area is infected, and not in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor says so — speak to our pharmacist, as plain Anusol or Anusol Natural may suit you better. Rectal bleeding always needs a GP.
