Why TSH — and why it's worth checking
An underactive thyroid creeps up: tiredness that sleep doesn't fix, unexplained weight gain, feeling cold, low mood, dry skin and hair. It's common — especially in women — hugely under-diagnosed, and very treatable. When the thyroid slows, TSH rises as the body tries to whip it on; a raised TSH is exactly what this test flags.
How to use
Prick a clean fingertip with the lancet provided, draw the sample as the leaflet shows, add it to the cassette with the buffer, and read at 10 minutes. C line confirms validity; the T line indicates raised TSH.
What to do with the result
A positive means take it to your GP for a proper lab thyroid panel — home tests screen, they don't diagnose or dose medication. A negative with persistent symptoms is still worth a GP chat: thyroid problems are one cause of fatigue among many.
