How effective are condoms?
When used correctly and every time, male condoms are about 98% effective at preventing pregnancy, though with typical, real-world use it is closer to 87%, which is why using them properly matters. They are also the best everyday way to help protect against sexually transmitted infections.
How do you put on a condom?
Check the expiry date and open the packet carefully (not with your teeth), place the condom on the tip of the erect penis with the roll on the outside, pinch the tip to squeeze out the air, and roll it all the way down before any contact. Use a new one every time, and hold the base when withdrawing.
