Product overview
About Cystopurin
Cystopurin takes the alternative route to cystitis relief: potassium citrate 3g — the choice when sodium is the problem — with natural cranberry juice extract, in a 48-hour course of six sachets. Effective relief from the burning and stinging, and deliberately low in sodium for hearts, kidneys and blood pressure that need salt kept down.
Potassium vs sodium citrate
Both alkalinise urine so it stops burning — the difference is the counter-ion. Cystopurin's potassium base makes it the standard recommendation for women on salt-restricted diets or blood pressure medication, where sodium-citrate sachets are off the menu. The cranberry extract adds the classic cystitis-companion flavour.
How to take
One sachet in a glass of water three times daily for two days — six sachets, one complete course. Plenty of water throughout.
Good to know
Potassium brings its own caution list: avoid with kidney disease, potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors or potassium supplements without pharmacist advice.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose Cystopurin over sodium citrate sachets?
It's the low-sodium option — the standard pick for women watching salt for blood pressure, heart or kidney reasons. Same urine-alkalinising relief, different base.
Does the cranberry actually help?
The extract is there for flavour and tradition — evidence for cranberry treating active cystitis is weak. The potassium citrate does the symptomatic work.
Who should NOT take potassium citrate?
Anyone with kidney disease or taking ACE inhibitors, potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements — ask a pharmacist, as excess potassium matters.
Still burning after the course?
See a GP — 48 hours of citrate plus fluids settles mild cystitis; what persists may need antibiotics.
