Otex 3345501Otex Express Ear Drops - 10ml
Otex is a leading ear drop brand for softening and removing a build-up of ear wax. Its urea hydrogen peroxide formula gently breaks down hardened wax so it can clear naturally or be removed more easily.
The range includes Otex ear drops and Otex Express, some with a bulb syringe for rinsing.
Browse the Otex range below, dispatched from our UK pharmacy. Do not use ear drops if you have a perforated eardrum or an ear infection; see your pharmacist or GP if you are unsure.
Tilt your head with the affected ear facing up, put in the number of drops stated on the pack, then keep your head tilted for a few minutes so the drops stay in and work on the wax. Use it for the recommended few days rather than longer, and wipe away any that runs out.
Keep your head tilted for around five minutes after putting the drops in, to give them time to reach and soften the wax, then let any excess drain onto a tissue. Follow the specific pack for how many times a day and for how many days to use it.
Otex contains urea hydrogen peroxide, which releases oxygen when it meets the wax - that is the fizzing you may feel - helping to break down and soften hardened ear wax. Once softened, the wax often works its way out naturally.
Otex is usually used over several days, and softened wax may clear on its own during or shortly after the course. If your ear is still blocked after the recommended period, see your pharmacist or GP rather than continuing.
Otex is effective at softening and helping to clear a build-up of ear wax for many people. If wax is very hard or impacted, you may still need it gently removed by a professional - a pharmacist can advise.
Used as directed, Otex is safe for most people, and a mild fizzing or bubbling sensation is normal. Do not use it if you have a perforated eardrum, an ear infection, grommets or a discharge from the ear - and stop and see your GP if you get pain, dizziness or your hearing gets worse.
