What is Excilor used for?
Excilor is used to treat mild to moderate fungal nail infections, which cause nails to become discoloured, thickened or crumbly. It is applied directly to the affected nail.
Does Excilor work?
Excilor can be effective for mild to moderate fungal nail infections, but it needs consistent use over several months and will not work for every case. For severe or painful infections, or if it does not improve, see your pharmacist or GP, who may suggest a tablet treatment.
How does Excilor work?
Excilor works by lowering the pH at the nail surface, creating an environment in which the fungus struggles to grow and survive. This helps healthy nail grow back in over time.
How do you use Excilor?
File or clean the affected nail as directed, then apply the solution or pen to the nail (and often around and under the edge), usually once a day. Keep going for the full course, as it takes time to work.
How long does Excilor take to work?
Because nails grow slowly, it can take several months of daily use to see healthy nail replace the infected part - often around 3 to 6 months or longer for a toenail. Be patient and consistent for the best chance of success.
